Yellow Wood is an American musical duo consisting of singer/songwriters and brothers Pres and Christian Harris. The second and third children of five, they had their first musical beginnings in the local church as apart of the choir, but later predominantly as musicians.
As young children they both developed an ear for sophisticated compositions and melodies. Christian Harris displayed a unique skill to the drums as a toddler and since the age of twelve, Pres Harris has been a self taught pianist and now serves as the groups’ primary composer.
The group officially formed in December of 2014 and began putting out music independently until they were signed by an independent record label. During their childhood, their father exposed them to various genres of music ranging from Rnb and Jazz, to Rock n’ Roll and Pop.
In late 2014 the pair received recording equipment and software from a family friend, for free, under the condition that they use it to further their music. After years of tremendous prompting to pursue music full time from friends and family, the duo eventually dropped their college courses and began consistent recording sessions for their debut “Untitled” project, released in 2015.
The duo’s influences are apparent in their song structure, melody, and vocal arrangements. The two released their second EP “Sharing” in early 2017 and now in 2019, with their lead single ‘I’m Yours’, the duo followed up with their highly anticipated EP titled “R&B”. Throughout the course of the band’s union, they have won over the hearts of music lovers from all walks of life.
