Singer, Songwriter Sevah, 16, is the most decorated visual artist in NYC winning more gallery showings and medals as a Junior attending the Brooklyn Arts High School.
Raised in Brooklyn all her life she is the daughter of a tech executive and a fashion stylist.
Sevah draws inspiration from her multi-cultural background being of Haitian and Korean decent. She turned to music as another creative outlet while battling Lupus which sometimes makes it where she physically can’t paint and she needed another creative outlet.
She first brought her father 2 songs she wrote at 2 am this past June. He was amazed at how good the songs were but believing it to be a fluke sent her back to write an EP. Two months later she bought back 10 acoustic songs written and arranged completely by her.
Her father told her he would fund putting out her EP (she has produced 2 now) if she made honor roll which she did and the reason why you are hearing this. ‘
Sevah wrote “Free Time” while recuperating from a Lupus flare up. Too nauseous to paint, from the treatment of medication, the artist in Sevah wrote and sang music from her bed. From that adversity was born “Free Time” and the EP “Distance is Far”.
