Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Mark Vodery grew up listening to different genres of music. His desire to sing came to fruition after moving to Philadelphia. He secretly took vocal lessons at South Philadelphia’s “Little Lyric Theater,” afterwards hitting the local music scene and performing R&B and Jazz throughout the city. He would soon move to New York, and proceed to win on the internationally syndicated “It’s Showtime at the Apollo.” While continuing to perform in New York City, he was a finalist in Budweiser’s “National Battle for the Crown.”

The desire for change took Mark away from the competitions and into the creative world of songwriting. His original song, “I’m Trying” was featured on MTV’s “Made.” The bass driven “Life I’m Living” found placement in on TLC’s show “The Sisterhood.”

His vocals are a throwback to soulful tenors, and can be heard on his upcoming EP “A Place in Time.”
