Lambeth, in south London, was the place appointed for the arrival of this way UK talent. Born 1976 to claim industry Jordan, Clinton is the firstborn of eight siblings. The Jordan family is a musical family, firmly established in the annals of UK Gospel music history. Clinton is married to Jeanette and his a proud father of Joshua, Nadia and Ebony.
There’s nothing ordinary of this south London born child raised in an Angelo Indian/West Indian heritage family. Grown up in a musical cacophony of cultural sounds from Gospel, jazz, funk soul to classical, folk and rock ’n’ roll. No musical genre was out of his grasp. Blessed with a musical intuition from the early ages of five Clinton was destined to make musical worlds and traditions collide making him truly one-of-a-kind.
Following studies at the Brits School of performing arts, Clinton honed his craft singing with many national and international artists touring the UK, Europe and the Far East. But it is with the Jordan family that forged his part in the music world singing, songwriting, arranging, engineering and producing the Jordan family album project. As well as being a highly regarded vocalist and talented musician, Clinton is also in high demand for his production skills. When not with his family, he is often found working away at St Annes Studios based in London.
As early as 1993 when Clinton turned down a scholarship to Berklee College of Music Boston Massachusetts and decided to embark on a professional music career working on a variety of stages, recording studios and tours. Clinton has worked with a wide range of clients from Jools Holland to Bryan Ferry, Michael Bolton to Mariah Carey and one of the highlights of his career was performing with Tina Turner in 1998. Clinton also has a vast wide of venues that he is performed in from the legendary jazz cafe to Ronnie Scott’s to Nagoya arts Centre, Japan, to the Barbican, London Royal Albert Hall, to the world-renowned Wembley Stadium but to name a few.
It is with one of his skills as a motivational speaker, choir director, composer and musical director that Clinton has raised to the national and international prominence directing several choirs at the tercentenary celebrations in front of her Majesty Queen Elisabeth II.
Now 8 years later embarking on his hotly anticipated second album, Clinton is gearing up to the release of his long-awaited album ‘Music Fit for the King’.
Primarily recorded at St Studios and with the help of many industry greats this album project is set to push the boundaries of eclectic music far and wide. This new album explores many emotions the life in the day of Clinton Jordan.
